Reflection: Three Down, One more to Go

The third quarter for this school year has ended, yet entering again the last grading period in my life as a high school student. Graduation is inevitably coming, but before we foresee, let us flashback ourselves what had happened this grading period. This grading period went so fast. As usual, there are some ups and downs, rough days. Some happenings and occasion that disturbed the normal school-days but fun though. For me, I didn’t bother anymore about getting higher grades. As time went by, I realized that making every day worth is more important than academic value. It’s not that I didn’t do my best but enjoying this last days are more important.
I tried to correct some mistakes in the past grading periods and it worked this time. All positive outlooks and attitudes about studying is what I did. Even though there are so many things that needs my attention, perseverance and patience is the solution. As I do these school-related things, I also enjoy doing these things, and I will treasure them. It is difficult sometimes but these make your life as a student memorable. What matters most is you learn while you have the hardships on your back. Like in making our project using Microsoft FrontPage, I know these learning will help me in the future. All the lessons like HTML tags, files and making a web page. These made my mind started to like the course in collage of IT or Computer Engineering. For now, I have no problem that I encountered this grading period except for understanding the hard lessons. To solve this problem, I just go with the flow and understood each lesson.
Three down, one to go before the real challenge of life- Collage. Enjoy every moment left while it lasts. Moving on, this grading period is just one small step for the big future ahead.

New Year, All are ne

Cheers to a new year and another chance
for us to get it right.
Oprah Winfrey
Another year had come, brought again new challenges, obstacles and luck for this year. Some will win, some will lose their fortune depending how well they go this year. Who knows? We all expect a good start and riddance for this year. Also as usual, there is “New Year’s Resolution” that we do. It’s New Year which means new life and a new hope for everyone’s life. The year ahead, what it will bring to us is unknown so to prepare, Resolutions will make a good head start for being better. All are new, especially in the aspect of one’s attitude, lifestyle and conducts. All tends to change but some do not fulfil what they wish to do change. I also want to change for the better. After the enjoyable holiday, I figured out myself what will I change.

Bad attitude will be discarded. There is no official list for my Resolution. I know myself, and I want to keep that in myself as a secret, it’s a little bit private. But for some sharing, I will be thriftier and to my friends, I will not be “tripper” to them for I hurt them when I joke and prank them. I will be more studious, for the nearing of my college life and end of my high school life. Positive attitudes are what I need for this year. I want to unleash the best in me.
All these are what I need and want for this year. Change for the better and will start right away, this first month of the year. For who we are brings prosperity ahead in this yea. May all our expectations for this year come true. Just be true to yourself. I know its late but, belated Happy New Year!

Christmas Essence can be Found in Everyone's Heart

Now that we have a few more nights before Christmas Eve, I am pretty sure everybody is busy preparing for this special occasion. But before others let us know what is the true essence of this event and not just enjoy the blessings and fun it brings in this season. Cold breeze, Christmas carols, Christmas Trees, Parols and fancy beautiful lights reminds us about the time of birth Jesus Christ. Our savior has been born a long time ago and that is why there is Christmas. 'Tis the season of giving and happy reunions.

The essence of Christmas can be seen in everyone's heart when they share their blessings, when they attend Simbang Gabi, sing Christmas songs and many other ways. These show that it is deep in our hearts we make the Spirit of Christmas alive and that makes everyone happy in this season. Our love to our special someone, to your friends or to your family gives warmth in the coldness of the Christmas eve. It was never about the gifts but the love from the person behind that gift. Truly the essence of Christmas can be seen in everyone's heart.

"Christmas is the whole heartily giving and sharing of blessings. Also, remember Jesus Christ not Santa Claus for he is the reason why we have this yearly tradition and celebration.
Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas. "
Calvin Coolidge

"Equal Rights Equal Opportunities" - Keep your Eyes Open

“Equal Rights Equal Opportunities” – do you know what this means? It emphasizes the equality among individuals especially women. Gender-based discrimination is the most pervasive form of this inequality that must be discarded. Racism is also an act of inequality which contradicts equality in rights and opportunities. Everyone deserves to be treated equally. Keep your eyes open. Can’t you see today that there are things such as women maltreated and racism happening? Yes, they do happen. But it does not mean we will do nothing about it. As emphasized, this thing is ruddily showing that there is no equality among us. We are all equal in God’s eyes. In ourselves, let us practice being equal, in rights and in opportunities.
The way forward equal rights and opportunities to all, especially women- will lead us to a better world and society within us. The obstacles that stand in our way through equality will be broken if we all will participate to break those barriers of inequality. There may be some individual differences but we are indispensable. Hand in hand, we will make our way through the light of equal rights and opportunities. We can help and practice this. Just keep your eyes open for the reality. Never discriminate anyone. We are all valuable. There are many things that display inequality, we just have to know it and discard them. This gender-based discrimination and racism are the most prominent act of equality. We know what to do. We humans, the highly socialized and civilized creatures on Earth know what to do for these things.

“As a nation we began by declaring “all men are created equal.” We now practically read it that all men are created equal except Negroes, foreigners and Catholics. When it comes to this I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretense of loving liberty — to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocrisy.”
—Abraham Lincoln
As said by Lincoln, he showed equality among black and white races. We can do something. He is the best example for this post. We are free, both equal. No one needs to be higher than the other. Equality is what we need and inequality to be discarded.

" Adapting to Climate Change" - Now Or Never

“Sometimes there are really things that needs to happen, a sudden, after a while, and then are all expressions of unflawed situation. But in every sudden a Change occurred. Now when there is a change I believe that there is an adaptation.”

Do not argue with me if I say that everything in the world changes. Me, you, every one of us changes. Even the Earth that we live in changes. Natures design for us may even change and teach us a lesson or two. As these changes occur we adapt to survive. But this does not mean that we will do nothing, sitting here pretend everything’s alright and watch this changes conquer us. As you can see in this post’s title, one change that I emphasize is CLIMATE CHANGE. I tell you, this is not a change we can adapt to. We must take a stand! Not just adapt but do something to overcome this challenge. It is now or ever.

This climate change can bring a great natural disasters and unpredictable weather which may we may not be able to prepare for. It brings us to destruction of Earth. As if we are one step away from climate change and natures destruction then…… Expect the worst! It is not too late. We, every one of us are needed to turn this around. We may need to adapt to climate change, but as they say “prevention is better than cure”. We have the power to save Earth.
We are at the 11th Hour, 1 hour away in meeting the midnight hour of destruction. Be good enough as in this simple blog, we can express and shout to the cyber world, and to the world that Climate Change has no room in Earth. Long were the days and nights, months and years of splendid by the traditional climate that we grew up with. The times when the fields, mountains, hills and us are blessed by the good old climate. Remember the times when our great grand ancestors enjoy those climates. We may adapt but it is also possible to turn this around. Act now. It is not needed to say what you will do. We have the initiative. Act now or never.

Reflection: Second Grading Period

This grading period has been a heck of a study days. There were lots of things done and crammed and passed. I made some sacrifices going home late due to some projects. As in this subject ICT, I had new learnings and discoveries. Group projects are one of those times when a lot of hard work and cooperation is needed. I have not encountered my enemy which is laziness. I have done and showed all efforts that I can do. The lessons and activities are easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy to do. Some learning that I liked is the making of our own html document by using the Notepad. It was a wonderful knowledge to have those.
I had fun with the easy and nice lessons and exercises on the making of HTML documents. The HTML Tags are the most interesting part. It is nice to know those things which can help me soon in the future. Who knows, I might be able to use this learning when time comes. I liked the way the lessons were learned by making the different exercises involving the Tags in formating editing, font attributes and many more.
Although I met some problems and hindrances this grading period. It was not laziness anymore but time management. With the other subjects competing attention for me to do, I lost track of time. It was like catching multiple balls thrown at you at the same time and trying not to drop one. It was very difficult. But, I soon learned that this problem will help to be early making some things. Through my immeasurable efforts I can proudly say that I have overcome those obstacles. I hope for a higher grade.
I also discovered that as far as the school year gets, the better I am doing.
No problems shall beat me in the next grading periods. Me, myself and I will overcome the challenges in this world of schooling. By the way I rate Second Grading Period as 7 over 10 base on the difficulty.
